Ways to find a reputable breeder:
Check with local all-breed and Dane clubs. Review their webpages.
What to ask the breeders you locate:
Are the parents OFA (hips and elbows), thyroid tested, Cardiac clear, CERF'd? Read more about these tests at Sunny Side Farm Educational Page.

Check the pedigree. Are there at least 3 titles in the last three generations (conformation or performance events)? Were grandparents and great-grandparents OFA'd?
Do the colors listed conform to the guidelines set by the GDCA?
The breeder may ask you some questions also:
Do you have a fenced yard? Do you have other dogs? Cats? Small children?
If you are interested in purchasing a pet quality Dane-the breeder may sell it with Limited Registration.
